Recruiting / Networking / Case Competition

Founded in 2011, the Young Entrepreneurs Conference (YEC) has grown to become one of the University of Toronto's most iconic event. It is also one of the biggest business, and professional networking conference for undergraduates in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Hosted by the Digital Enterprise Management Association (DEMA - formerly DEM Society), YEC is attended by affluent business professionals and undergraduates from around Canada.

My role as the Director of Sponsorship, and thereafter as President, includes: generating funds, media and in-kind sponsorship for YEC, managing and leading a executives and associates to meet targets and deadlines, establishing and maintaining a good rapport with past and current sponsors, assisting other sectors in DEMA when needed, and working alongside my team of Executives to maintain the quality and standards of other events. Collectively, the $50,000 YEC events were proudly sponsored and partnered by the following: MaRS Discovery District in Toronto, I-CUBE, Zomato Canada, Ric Centre, ICCIT Council, UofT, Spotify, Awake chocolate, Scotia Bank, TD Bank, Robert Half Technology, Nova Solutions, TEDx, Move Snap, and Investors Group.

In order to increase brand awareness and audience engagement, I also created several social media campaigns via Facebook and Twitter. The result? We were able to make #YEC2016 trending in Canada. Watch the keynote video below:
